Recently, the Campus Activity Network (CAN) hosted its annual rendition of Fall Fest. The setup for this event started over an hour beforehand, so having the help was very needed to have things run smoothly. According to Katie Kimble, the current president of CAN, “Setting up was a lot of work, but we had a lot of help, so that made it a lot better. The event went great!”. Fall Fest featured a plethora of things to do, the most notable addition being a pumpkin patch with about 150 pumpkins sitting in the grass by the mall.
After students were able to carve and paint the pumpkins, they held a contest for the best decorated pumpkin later that day, with the winner being Aylah Wilson. Other competitions that were held were a ghost impression contest, with the use of a clapometer to determine the winner; the most spooky rang victorious. Lastly, their most popular competition was their pie-eating contest. Just needing to eat one small pie the fastest, Cole Davis won the prize. The day was surrounded by fall music gracing the mall, food trucks lining the cul-de-sac, and joyous fun filling the air. As well as trick or treating at the tables for the clubs that were there, and games to the side, there truly was never a shortage of activities to do at the event.
Not only was there no shortage of activities to do, but there was a lot of food to eat and candy to get at the event. There were multiple food trucks that were offering tacos, pizza, nuts, plus there was a table with lots of different drinks, including apple cider and water. Another table had morning fresh donuts in their most fall flavors. The campus showed out and made these food trucks as busy as they could be throughout the day. CAN hopes to be able to bring this event to campus again, and Katie Kimble said, “We hope that we can bring that energy into spring fest next semester!”
