Baseball has been spending the majority of their time down south as they awaited the weather breaking in order for them to return home for the first time all year. During their trip down south, they are currently sitting at 5-6 on the season. They also have three more games on the road before their opener in Adrian, Michigan, where they will play all three games in Granville, Ohio, playing against three different teams. Those three teams include Denison University, Baldwin Wallace University, and North Central College.
Getting back to the first matchup on home turf for the Bulldogs will be on Tuesday March, 18th at 4:00 PM against Heidelberg university. Adrian College enters this game having played Heidelberg forty-two times since March of 1990. In those forty-two meetings, Heidelberg has won twenty-four of the games with AC winning eighteen. The Bulldogs were on a three-game winning streak prior to the 5-4 loss they suffered last year around this time.
The Bulldogs gave up an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before tying it back up at 1-1 in the top of the 4th which lead Braedy Limke to hit a three run HR to right field, AC battled back with a single run in both the 5th and 6th innings bringing the score to 4-3 heading into the 7th when a walk with the bases loaded saw the Student Princes take a 5-3 lead. The Bulldogs tried to battle back in the 9th frame but it was too little too late as they were only able to grab one run bringing the final to the aforementioned 5-4 score.
