Dawson Auditorium erupted with echoes of claps, cheers, and praise as Adrian College 2014 Graduate Marina Forgue was our featured Spring Convocation speaker. Bulldog Athletics, Coaches, and Staff gathered in Dawson Auditorium to discuss Forgue’s journey in her battle with Cerebral Palsy, a group of neurological disorders that affected her movement, posture, and balance. With a degree in Business Management, Forgue is the epitome of being A.B.L.E. to overcome adversity. In her message, she described being A.B.L.E. as:
- Attitude- CHECK IT!
- Baggage- DUMP IT!
- Limits- ELIMINATE THEM!
- Envision- LIVE IT
Forgue says her biggest reason “why” she continues and works hard is because of her two daughters and son. She has a degree in Business Management and has been featured on various TEDx Talks, live broadcasts, etc. She continues to be a light to the college and will continue to inspire others.
So, when you feel like giving up or someone makes you feel inferior to overcoming adversity, next time, tell them, “Watch me.” Those of us here at College World, as well as Adrian College, want to thank Marina Forgue for her very inspiring talk and optimistic outlook on life.
