Every student that lives on campus has different room interior ideas. Whether you’re in a single dorm or a double, they are all different, and that’s what makes it interesting. This upcoming competition gives students the opportunity to show off their creativity on-campus and get other creative ideas from other students. All housing can be involved in the competition, including fraternities and sororities!
Dorm rooms are like anyone’s safe place to be on campus if they need it. The space they have allows students to make their ideas come to life. Feel free to make your room however you wish to be, no one here at Adrian College will judge you. If you like to be in their dorm a lot, this is a great opportunity for you to compete in the Bulldog Games as well so you don’t feel left out! Not only is this competition going to be fun, it can also be competitive! But, it would also help out your resident halls or apartments to open up in the community to greet each other more by seeing how other residents decorate their rooms.
Once you sign up online on the Google Sheet, email [email protected] a time and day for me to visit your room and I will come to your dorm or your apartment and take a quick picture shot of your room (if you would like to be in the photo you’re more than welcome to! If you wish to not be in the photo and only have your room picture, to be anonymous, you’re more than welcome too as well to make it more interesting!) That way, other students have voting, it’s more interesting to see how their friends or other students decorate their rooms. When voting comes around the corner, you get to be able to vote for every room type to make it fair enough to vote for your favorite rooms from all the room types.
For the apartments, depending on how many students live in the apartment, the rooms would all be in one slot together to either make it a double or a trio slot to make it easier. Example: if there are three students that live in an apartment, then all those rooms would be in the trio type but merge together. If there are rooms that are merged together in the apartment, like two then that room will be put into the double. At the end of the competition, the winner of the dorm type will receive extra points in their hall. Example, if the single dorm slot came in first place and they are from Stevens, then Stevens will receive 15 extra points. It is possible all placements can be in the same hall so it’s a great idea to get your hall participating!
Fraternity/Sororities
It’s pretty much the same as if you’re living in a Residence Hall and little like the apartments. If you’re living in a single or double room, your room would only be shown, not the whole house. Your rooms will be put into the slot of the room types.
